POSITION SUMMARY:
Construction Technician is an entry level position to the Construction Department with a focus on hands on/repair responsibilities in support of the overall construction process in which they are assigned. The Construction Technician coordinates completion of assigned duties with the assistance of other Construction Department employees. Construction Technicians is responsible for technical hands-on work on a daily basis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Responsible for ensuring that work meets general building standards scope of work, if applicable.
· Identify any areas that need correction to the best of their knowledge and review with the relevant party to resolve issue
· Respond and complete punch out requests in order of priority from Customer Experience Advisor (“CEA”) on homes under construction as scheduled if assigned to CEA by the Director of Construction
· At a minimum the Construction Technician is supporting the Construction team on:
o Review the QA inspection per list generated by third party, and complete the items on the report o Assist in completion of all NHO and PCO list items that are not Long Lead items if directed
o Safety of the jobsite per OSHA Guidelines and Kolter requirements
o Attend all Kolter Certification and Training Courses/meetings
o Ensure No Trespassing signs are up at all times, as well as, following posting policies at all times
o Have required Kolter tools per policy at all times
o Have a measuring tape and something to write on with you at all times
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· No supervisory responsibilities are required for this position
REQUIRED JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
· Strong understanding of construction, subcontracting, and customer service
· Excellent analytical, creative thinking, leadership, problem-solving, interpersonal, negotiation, organizational, project management and time management skills
· Manage multiple priorities in a timely and professional manner with strong attention to detail with limited supervision
· Demonstrate commitment to integrity, company values, customer-focus, and established policies and procedures
· Display professional appearance and manner
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
· A high school diploma or equivalent preferred
· A minimum of two or more years’ experience in construction related field
· OSHA 10-hour Construction Certification – within 30 days of start
· EPA Construction Training Certification – within 30 days of start
