How you will help us create value together:

As an EHS Intern , you will be responsible for a range of support activities for the EHS department. You will assist the EHS team by contributing to environmental, sustainability, and safety projects, completing them by the end of summer to add direct value to the business.

This onsite position will be based onsite at our South Harbor location in Milwaukee’s Harbor District. The target start date for this role is Summer 2025 and has potential to be extended into the Fall 2025 school semester. We offer full-time hours during the summer and flexible part-time hours during the academic year.

Key Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities may include :

  • Assist in developing and implementing EHS programs and policies.
  • Conduct safety inspections and audits.
  • Prepare and deliver safety training.
  • Investigate incidents and develop preventive measures.
  • Research and analyze EHS trends and best practices.
  • Maintain EHS records and track metrics.
  • Participate in EHS meetings and decision-making.
  • Coordinate emergency response plans.
  • Support EHS initiatives and projects.
  • Promote a safety and environmental culture.
  • Review and update EHS policies.
  • Take on additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree in occupational health and safety, environmental health and safety, industrial hygiene or similar programs from an accredited college or university
  • Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or master’s level student in good academic standing
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team towards a goal
  • Excellent organization and personal time management skills, ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Possess effective problem solving and critical thinking skills; ability to be creative and resourceful when needed
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite products (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Leadership experience in organizing or working with groups.
  • Project work experience.
  • Relevant internship or work experience.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong ability to articulate and summarize analytical data for leadership.
