Job Overview

The Engineer IV will support NPD and NPI, primarily with developing markets, supporting the long-term growth strategies for the Shovel product line. This position will involve broad scope machine design from conceptual machine level design, specific component developments and management of large-scale projects.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Coordinates large scale projects with multiple facets and disciplines.
• Applies engineering fundamentals to solve problems.
• Creates designs that effectively and efficiently meet product requirements.
• Conducts detailed concept selection design process.
• Interfaces with external resources to leverage knowledge base.
• Conducts engineering calculations as needed to verify design activities.
• Efficiently uses SolidWorks in both conceptual and detailed design work.
• Processes engineering documentation through all phases of the engineering release process.
• Leads designers, detailers, and other engineers to complete design work.
• Occasional international travel is required. Must be able to occasionally work on mine sites or at vendor locations.
  
  

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor's in mechanical engineering, master's in mechanical engineering preferred.
• 5-10 years of experience in engineering design process. Experience in machine level or vehicle level design is preferred.
• Experience in heavy equipment design preferred.
• Experience in heavy weldments, machinery, routed systems, electro-mechanical design is preferred.
• Must be capable of both conceptual and detailed design processes.
• Travel up to 10%.
