What you will be doing in the role of General Counsel & Corporate Secretary
Reporting to the President & CEO, the General Counsel & Corporate Secretary is responsible for providing legal guidance and support to Susan G. Komen. This position involves ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, managing legal risks, internal audit and risk management functions within Komen as well as serving as a key advisor to the executive leadership team, CEO and board of directors. This role requires expertise in nonprofit law, risk assessment, and governance.
What You Will Bring To The Table
Legal Advice
- Provides legal counsel on a range of issues including governance, compliance, contracts, and employment law.
- Oversee the contract review process to protect Komen’s interests.
- Drafts and negotiate agreements between the organization and third parties.
- Manages all litigation filed against Komen, including coordination with and oversight of outside counsel.
- Creates and manages the legal infrastructure for the organization.
- Responsible for protection and enforcement of Komen’s domestic and international assets and intellectual property.
