Job Title: Food Quality Controller

Reports to: QA Manager

Location: LIC, NY and Bronx, NY

Role Overview:
The Food Quality Controller ensures Kommissary’s products meet quality and safety standards by monitoring food production processes and environments. This role supports consistent product delivery, customer satisfaction, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect food products at various production stages to ensure quality standards are met.
• Monitor production environments for cleanliness and adherence to quality guidelines.
• Document findings and communicate areas for improvement to managers.
• Collaborate with the Food Safety Manager to address quality issues effectively.
• Verify compliance with packaging, labeling, and storage specifications.
• Support additional projects and perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; certifications in food quality preferred.
• 2 years of experience in food production or quality assurance.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Fluency in English is required; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may need to stand and walk for extended or continuous periods of time. They must be able to ascend and descend staircases, ladders, and/or step stools and may be required to travel outside between buildings in varying outdoor weather conditions. The employee may also be regularly required to remain in a stationary position (sit or stand) for 85% of the time; regularly operate office machinery. The employee must be able to travel up to 50% of the time. Travel may vary in frequency and duration. The employee must demonstrate the ability to exert up to 50 pounds occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds frequently, and/or up to 50 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects.
