The Buyer I is responsible for purchasing products, goods, and materials to support our operations, customer service, and sales teams. All purchases will meet our organization's standards of price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Process requisitions and purchase orders
- Record purchase order acknowledgments and update Purchase Order (PO) discrepancies
- Expedite and perform procurement activities to ensure the organization's current and anticipated demand for products and materials (stock and non-stock) are met and in alignment with purchasing strategies
- Monitor the quality and timeliness of products and materials supplied; coordinate the return of damaged goods and/or replacement items
- Effectively communicate with the management team to ensure all deliveries satisfy the assigned orders and report any back ordered or missing products
- Communicate with vendors to resolve problems with timeliness and product quality. Negotiate and coordinate vendor returns for aging, expired, or excess inventory
- Maintain and cultivate relationships with one or more suppliers, vendors, internal or external customers
- Research and resolve account payables nonconformance with suppliers
- Assist other buyers with maintaining inventory levels and materials on a regular basis
- Develop an effective and accurate system for monitoring purchase orders
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Business, Finance, or related field or an equivalent of related experience
- Strong interpersonal skills to work with team members, clients, and suppliers
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of products and ability to learn Komline’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and Inventory Management applications
- Basic arithmetic
- Self-starter and ability to work independently with close attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Nice To Have:
- 3 years of experience in manufacturing procurement
