Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Buyer to join our procurement team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the purchasing process, ensuring that all materials and services are acquired at the best possible price and quality. This role requires strong negotiation skills, a solid understanding of supply chain management, and the ability to analyze market trends to make informed purchasing decisions.
Duties
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with company goals.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure advantageous terms.
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure quality management and timely delivery of goods.
- Utilize SAP or Oracle EBS systems for procurement processes and inventory management.
- Conduct root cause analysis for any supply chain disruptions or quality issues.
- Obtaining quotations and cost estimates.
- Oversee category management to optimize purchasing strategies across various product lines.
- Monitor market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Identification and evaluation of suppliers, service providers and offers.
- Comparing offers, analyzing offers and making recommendations.
- Conducting purchasing , price & contract negotiations
- Building and fostering supplier relationship as well as leading and preparing purchasing/ contract negotiations.
- Preparation, processing and execution of orders (high-quality and cost-effective purchases)
- Tracking and monitoring of orders (checking order confirmations, monitoring delivery dates
- Creating compliant reports and processing of complaint reports
- Creating detailed reports and reports for superiors for information purposes
Requirements
- Proven experience in a buyer or procurement role, preferably in a manufacturing or retail environment.
- Strong skills in contract negotiation and supplier relationship management.
- Familiarity with SAP or Oracle EBS software is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of supply chain principles and practices.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis effectively.
- Experience with quality management processes is a plus.
- Very good negotiation skills
