Reports to: Kitchen Manager

Location: Bronx, NY

Position Summary

Kommissary is a social enterprise on a mission to spread joy through food. We produce and deliver high volumes of meals spanning a diverse array of cuisines to every demographic in New York City.

Kommissary is seeking a Line Cook that will work efficiently in a high-paced environment, using good verbal and written communication skills. This person should possess ability to work independently as well as part of a team. We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented person with a stable work history for this job. Responsibilities & Duties

• Demonstrates a wide knowledge of high-level skills of cooking techniques like grilling, roasting, pan frying
• Having well executed knife skills
• Make sure food preparation and storage areas meet health and safety standards
• Be able to work as part of a team, delivering consistent food with an attention to detail, even when under pressure
• Works with a sense of urgency and can multitask
• Understand NY Department of Health protocols for food safety
• Possess strong communication skills
• Stay positive and calm under pressure
• Able to work overtime when necessary

Compensation

Pay range is $17.00 to $19.00, depending on skill level, experience and/or education. Compensation offered is also subject to local wage and hour laws.
