Rate of Pay: $20.88/hour

Opportunity Awaits on the beautiful Island of Hawaii... King Kamehameha Kona Beach Resort Courtyard by Marriott currently has an opening for a talented Casual Housekeeping Seamstress to share the aloha spirit and strive to create a memorable guest experience.

Brief Summary of Job: Cuts, sews, mends and makes bedspreads, drapes, aprons, uniforms, pillow covers, laundry bags, and does other sewing required in the Hotel.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the job include but are not limited to:
____ Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing
personalized service to hotel guests.
____ Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members.
____Ability to understand alteration tags and marks on garments to ascertain necessary alterations.
____Have an understanding of all garment fittings, marks on garments, construction, and knowledge of fabrics, and styling and manufacturing techniques.
____ Perform sewing, alterations and embellishments to uniform garments, bed spreads. Drapes, aprons, pillow covers, bed sheets, towels, napkins and other sewing required.
____ Take necessary measurements and mark garments for alterations with ability to problem solve individual sizing issues.
____ Mends sheets, towels, napkins and other mending that is required in the Hotel.
____ Operate sewing machinery.
____ Report to management any items in need of maintenance.
____ Ensure a clean and tidy space at all times.
____ Report any missing/found articles or damage to management.
____ Provide assistance to other team members and departments to contribute to the best
overall performance of the department and hotel.
____ Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.

Qualifications:

Knowledge/Education/Experience: High school or equivalent education. Minimum two (2) years experience as a seamstress/ tailor. Hotel experience highly preferred.

Skills/Abilities/Other Requirements: Ability to communicate in English with guests, management and fellow team members to their understanding desirable. Ability to prioritize, organize and make good judgments. Dependable.
