Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and professional CAD Technician with a proven track record in SolidWorks to join our team on a short-term contract. The ideal candidate will work closely with our Manufacturer and our New Equipment Department to create, update, and optimize 3D models, technical drawings, and designs for our trucks and related components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine 3D models and technical drawings using SolidWorks for truck components and systems.
- Collaborate with engineers and production teams to translate concepts into manufacturable designs.
- Modify existing designs to improve functionality, durability, or efficiency.
- Ensure all designs adhere to Kona Ice brand standards and compliance regulations.
- Create detailed part and assembly drawings for production use.
- Maintain clear documentation and version control of all designs.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, with a minimum of 3 years of professional experience.
- Proven experience in mechanical design, sheet metal, and assembly modeling.
- Ability to produce accurate and detailed technical drawings and 3D models.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Independent, self-motivated, and capable of meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability to work as needed over the 3–6 month term of the contract.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in automotive or mobile unit design is a plus.
- Familiarity with electrical systems and truck up-fitting processes is advantageous.
