We are currently seeking to hire an IT Technical Consultant / Systems Engineer to become an integral part of our technical team. The Consultant is required to interact with our clients to perform requirement analysis, design, and implement software solutions. Candidates should have a positive professional attitude with demonstrated ability to maintain good client relations. The position is located in Virginia Beach, VA.
Responsibilities:
- Install and configure software applications/tools such as Service/Help Desk, Active Directory, security solutions, Vulnerability Management, Applications Monitoring, and SharePoint etc.
- Knowledge of SQL syntax. Understand database queries and stored procedures.
- Configuring storage systems, routers, network devices.
- Work with virtualization platforms such as VMware ESXi
- Integration of cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure
- Participate in planning and implementing large IT projects
- Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools.
- Co-ordinate with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
- Document system configuration. Monitor installed systems and infrastructure
- Troubleshoot and resolve any system issues. Develop custom scripts to automate system tasks
- Install and configure software tools that enhance the security posture of our clients
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in installation and configuration of operating systems and software applications in Windows environment. Any Linux experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with ITSM solutions and ITIL practices
- Knowledgeable about operating systems, networking, and cloud technologies
- Ability to configure networking and storage system components
- Prior experience in Windows
Active Directory and Desktop Management
- Familiarity with relational databases such as MySQL, Oracle, and SQL Server
- Details-oriented and ability to deliver task deliverables on time
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Ability to conduct research into technical issues and products as required
Education:
BS/MS degree in Computer Science or a related subject or equivalent experience
