POSITION TITLE : Senior Accountant
DATE : February 2025
REPORTS TO : Controller
POSITION PURPOSE / MISSION :
Prepare, maintain, and analyze a variety of financial records, reports and information. Ensure sound financial management and reporting is maintained by following all accounting principles and government regulations.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES :
- Manage accounts receivable function including cash posting, following through on past due amounts, customer credits, rebates, letters of credit, credit and terms review, misc. invoicing, and reporting.
- Primary responsibility, both analyzing actual results and budgeting, for non-gross margin elements of income statement.
- Manage capital (fixed asset) acquisition process and accounting including reviewing and recording appropriations and disposals, depreciation calculation, tax and audit reporting, year-end reconciliation.
- Prepare personal property tax return.
- Assist with period end and year end close including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, financial statement research and analysis, and prepare period end reports. Responsible for non-gross profit income statement account analysis and non-inventory quarterly balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Assist in preparation of period end financial presentation made to Management Team.
- Involvement in interim and year end audits including preparing and analyzing schedules, contributing to internal control evaluation, and fulfilling auditors' requests.
- Crosstrain with A / P and Cost Accounting roles to provide flexibility within the department.
- Manage lease accounting process.
- Lead the development of processes within the newly implemented ERP system to help drive efficiencies within functions of this role.
- Provide support and required information related to annual P&C insurance renewal and periodic tax return preparation requirements, and other special projects as assigned.
- May assist with training and mentoring associates in the department including interns.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :
Minimum Technical Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.Five or more years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.Understand Generally Accepted Accounting Principles standards, codes, and concepts.General ledger experience.Experience working with external auditors.Strong analytical and technical financial skills.Ability to meet daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines.Demonstrated ability to work with a minimum amount of information / direction and gather information and knowledge to build a case.Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, what if statements, V and H look ups, etc.).Working knowledge of other Microsoft Office applications.Preferred Technical Qualifications :
