POSITION TITLE: Strategic Account Manager
DATE: February 2025
REPORTS TO: Vice President of Sales, Marketing, & Business Development
POSITION PURPOSE/MISSION:
The Strategic Account Manager will develop, direct and implement strategic sales plans and related functions for identified customers and markets consistent with growth and profit objectives.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Maintain close personal contact with assigned strategic customers and prospects.
- Proactively identify new opportunities and work collaboratively to develop new products and programs at existing and new strategic customers, converting these into long-term relationships.
- Manage communication pipeline by proactively working with engineering, product development, marketing, quality and purchasing teams both at Kondex and with customers to ensure the highest level of satisfaction.
- Develop yearly forecast and account plans for each account, monitor progress, and recommend changes, as necessary.
- Participate in industry trade shows, educational seminars, and customer events.
- Provide the company with timely and accurate market and competitive information.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current and future industry trends.
- Prepare and submit reports as required to include sales calls and regular updates.
Position Challenges:
- Identifying and implementing new opportunities for current customers and new customers/markets.
- Meeting sales and profit objectives for targeted accounts.
- Competing for internal resources and justifying new business projects.

Organizational Relationships:
- Primary internal customers: Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Business Development, Manager of Sales Administration & Analytics, Customer Service Representatives, Account Managers, Marketing.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field.
- Five or more years of demonstrated sales success with large OEM’s.
- Demonstrated negotiation skills.
- Strong organization, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Engineering degree.
- CRM experience preferably Salesforce.
- Market research and/or technical sales experience.
- Strategic planning experience in a growth environment.
