We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced EA or CPA to join our team and lead projects related to IRS calls, tax resolutions, and tax return preparation.
Position Overview:
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of effectively handling IRS calls, prior experience working for the IRS, and a deep understanding of IRS procedures and correspondence protocols. Strong project management skills and expertise in tax preparation are essential for success in this role. Candidates who hold the designation of an Enrolled Agent (EA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) will be given preference.
Key Responsibilities:
IRS Resolution:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for handling IRS correspondence, including phone calls, audits, and notice responses.
- Research and resolve complex tax issues and communicate resolution strategies with clients and internal teams.
Project Management:
- Manage and oversee IRS resolution projects, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Coordinate with clients, team members, and the IRS to achieve resolutions efficiently.
Tax Preparation & Compliance:
- Prepare and review individual and business tax returns (Forms 1040, 1120, 1065, etc.).
- Stay updated on federal and state tax laws to ensure compliance and provide proactive advice to clients.
Client Support:
- Build and maintain strong client relationships by providing clear communication and updates throughout the resolution process.
- Educate clients on IRS procedures and assist in tax planning when necessary.
Qualifications:
- An Active Enrolled Agent (EA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in IRS resolution, tax preparation, and project management.
- Strong knowledge of federal tax laws, regulations, and IRS procedures.
- Proficiency in tax software (e.g., Lacerte, ProSeries, Drake) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with managing multiple client projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with resolving complex taxation issues.
- Bilingual capabilities (Spanish or other languages) are a plus.
