Title: Project Quality Inspector
Travel estimate: 40% Interstate (Overnight), 30% Intrastate
Education: High School Diploma, equivalent or higher – dependent on commensurate experience
Passport and Valid Drivers License
Reports to: KNES-Global Nuclear Quality Director
Individual will act as the KNES Quality field liaison serving to conduct remote site inspections, vendor surveillances, and rotate the responsibility of Construction Quality Control Manager (CQCM) on project sites. Ensures that field or vendor quality functions are being properly executed and documented.
Overview of Project Quality Inspector Roles and Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate all QA/QC activities related to remote-site manufacturing, assembly, and testing, to ensure conformance to project quality requirements. This includes all remote site in-process inspections, FAT, SAT, and construction related QA/QC activities associated with contract specific Quality plans.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings with other third-party inspections, be the interface between customer inspection teams.
- Facilitate lessons learned meetings for major projects. Verify assigned actions are completed and documented.
- Supports all ISO, NQA and 10 CFR 50 appendix B components and projects as required by the base load of the other quality department personnel.
- Completes commercial surveys of commercial suppliers that are utilized by the Nuclear business unit as
directed by quality management. - Completes surveillance of commercial suppliers performing work on Nuclear business unit components
and services as directed by quality management. - Completes training in use of required tooling and MT&E, to support manufacturing, Field, and
production QA/QC responsibilities. - Inspects electrical commercial component and other assemblies constructed by the Nuclear
BU. - Performs additional quality related tasks as may be assigned by the KNES Global Director Nuclear Quality
Experience & Skills:
- Technical aptitude/acumen with machinery, engineering, literacy and interpretation of blue prints.
- Familiarity, not exclusive to performing or inspecting, welds and/or nondestructive testing
- Large project involvement and execution
- Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously; and the ability to work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision; must be a self-starter
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
- Self-directed and the ability to interact with supervisors, engineers, and customers effectively.
- Trips in the excess of two weeks of time maybe required
- Strong teamwork and networking skills
Bonus to have:
- AWS CWI certification, or willingness to pursue
- USACE CQCM certification
- Working Knowledge of Portal Cranes
Physical demands for the role:
- Being able to work at elevated heights
- Ability to ascend ladders frequently
- May be required to lift weights up to 40lbs
