What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipper/Receiver position at Kongsberg Automotive?
Main Objective:
This position is an integral part of the logistics department at Kongsberg Automotive, Suffield CT. While heavily focused on receiving incoming materials, the Receiver may also perform shipping duties as required to ensure all products are shipped to customers in a timely manner.
Responsibilites:
- Unload and load trucks as needed.
- Pull packing lists and certifications, communicating any missing lists or certifications to the appropriate
- Sort skids
- Prepare incoming materials for quality inspection.
- Receive all incoming inventory and non-inventory items into inventory management system.
- Move components to production floor as required or to appropriate warehouse storage areas.
- Deliver packages to appropriate addresses throughout the plant.
- Perform cycle counts as instructed.
- Manage warehouse, ensuring a neat, orderly and safe environment.
- Work with quality department to return non-conforming materials to vendors.
- Assist shippers with outgoing shipments as needed to ensure product meet On-Time Delivery demands.
- Duties may include utilizing on-line systems.
- This role will be cross-trained to provide back-up support to fittings kitter/picker
- Read and understand work instructions.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines.
- Support 5S and Continuous Improvement efforts.
- Current Forklift certification required. (Will also need to be re-certified through Kongsberg Automotive)
- Perform other duties as seen necessary by management.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- 1-3 years prior warehouse/manufacturing shipping experience
- Self-motivator, go-getter attitude is a must.
- Regular use of telephone Basic computer/ typing skills
- Basic calculator skills
- Excellent Math skills
- Great Communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to lift, push, pull, carry up to 70 lbs
- Overtime may be required.
