Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace Inc. is seeking a Cable Assembler I to work in the Johnstown, PA location. Cable Assembler I will perform assembly of various cable assemblies related to the Remote Weapon Station and other various product lines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF JOB:
- Perform simple to moderate Internal or External Cable assembly operations using basic and special tooling such as wire strippers, wire cutters, Manual, pneumatic and hydraulic crimp tools, Hot Air gun, hot tweezers, tape measure, Solder Iron, ruler and continuity tester following a detailed build process.
- Ability to read and interpret Assembly Drawings/Wire Routing Lay in Board.
- Maintain assigned tooling and ensure calibrated tools are within current calibration cycle.
- Order materials using the Material Request Application or IPS/Vending machine(s).
- Reporting progress of job completion and discrepancies to appropriate lead or manager.
- Ability to use Proflow for timekeeping, production tracking and documentation linked to Enovia (i.e. work instructions/Assembly drawings).
- Maintain active IPC/WHMA-A-620 and IPC J-STD-001.
- Perform operations within budgeted Production Order hours and meet production efficiency goal.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma/general education degree (GED)
NUMBER OF YEARS AND TYPE OF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
1 year experience assembling equipment in a production manufacturing environment preferred
J-STD-001 Certification (Soldering)
IPC-620 Technician Certification
MINIMUM LEARNING TIME FOR THIS POSITION PROVIDED EMPLOYEE HAS NECESSARY EXPERIENCE:
6 Months
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS OF THE JOB:
