Koniag Professional Services, is seeking an experienced and highly organized Project Leader to provide comprehensive support to our team. The Project Leader (Governance) is a critical role responsible for leading and managing all aspects of governance operational support functions involving multiple complex and interrelated project tasks. This position requires a strong understanding of governance frameworks, processes, and best practices, as well as the ability to effectively manage teams and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
The Project Leader (Governance) plays a crucial role in ensuring the effective implementation and adherence to governance frameworks, processes, and best practices across multiple projects and teams. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in governance, project management, and software engineering, with exceptional leadership and communication skills. Additionally, they should possess the ability to manage complex projects, collaborate with stakeholders, and provide strategic direction and oversight to ensure successful governance operations.
Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
The Project Leader will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Serve as the Governance lead, organizing, directing, and managing all aspects of governance operational support functions involving multiple complex and interrelated project tasks that often require managing teams of personnel at multiple locations.
- Provide overall direction and oversight of governance activities, ensuring adherence to established policies, standards, and procedures.
- Manage and maintain the contractor's interface with senior levels of the customer's organization, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
- Consult with customer and contractor personnel to formulate and review governance artifacts, supporting adherence to program and project task schedules.
- Establish and maintain reports to show progress of projects to management and customers, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Organize and oversee the successful completion of all assigned governance tasks, providing guidance and support to team members as needed.
- Assume the initiative and provide support to the OCIO (Office of the Chief Information Officer) and various program offices, ensuring seamless integration and coordination of governance efforts.
- Serve as the task leader, managing a group of engineers and the full ADP (Automated Data Processing) life cycle in software engineering for a minimum of two years.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or Project Management.
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust
Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Must possess two (2) years of task leader experience managing a group of engineers and the full ADP life cycle in software engineering.
- Proven experience and knowledge of governance frameworks, processes, and best practices in IT or related fields.
- Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify risks, challenges, and opportunities, and develop effective strategies.
- Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and compliance requirements related to governance and IT operations.
Desired Skills and Competencies:
- Experience with office equipment (e.g. copiers, postage meters, audio/visual)
- Knowledge of database management, reporting and data entry procedures
- Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Office Location and Travel:
- The place of performance will be Primary place of performance shall be performed at ACF Headquarters, located in Washington, D.C., Rockville, MD.
