Child Support Staff wanted to work with Children with Special Needs
Job location: North Orange County area
If you're the type of person who finds yourself often connecting with kids and wanting to be a small (or BIG!) part in helping kids succeed and be happy in their life, this job is for you. Child Support Staff come to work ready to motivate and educate each day and are excited by the opportunity to add to their skillsets!
Join a team of fun and dedicated child support staff who support children with special needs to achieve their potential at their in homes! We are looking for Part-time Child Cheerleaders to help children learn how to be good communicators, take better care of themselves and interact better with those around them.
Characteristics of the Ideal Child Support Staff:
*Support staff are our children's biggest cheerleaders! They seek to understand what uniquely motivates each child with special needs whether it's a favorite Pokemon character, the catchy Lizzo song or jumping on the trampoline. Child Support Staff become the master of the child's interests to join in on their excitement and use this and their relationship with the child to motivate them to learn new skills.
*Dependability: Support staff show up time after time for the children they support. They understand that the children they work with depend on their cheerleading each day, as do the other cheerleaders and important people in their lives.
*Openness: Support staff are open to new challenges, change and input that working with children with special needs challenges them with. Child Support Staff are intellectually curious and soak up the support of the staff who work with them.
$16-24/hour depending on experience working with kids, in schools, homes, etc. Paid drive time and mileage. Paid training and supervision.
Child Support Staff Requirements:
*Experience working with Children
*Minimum of a high school diploma
*Negative TB test
*COVID Vaccinated
*Live Scan
*Reliable transportation to get themselves to and from children's homes and schools.
Child Support Staff will Receive:
*Initial paid training to learn how to become a Behavior Technician and a Registered Behavior Technician for the children they will support
*Shadowing other skilled staff working with children to see how the best supporting is done
*Pay from $16-24/hour depending on experience and goodness of fit
*Paid drive time and mileage to get themselves and their pom-poms between any children's schools and homes
*On-going support from the supervisors - coaches come out to the children's homes and are available to meet with Child Support Staff one-on-one to provide feedback and support too
*Professional development opportunity to become a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
*Opportunities for performance and promotion raises
