Requirements
- Review MRP signals daily/ (weekly minimum) and place orders as necessary to cover requirements for inventory (Stock) related product.
- Researches and assists in selecting suppliers including alternate sources as required covering shortage situations.
- Ability to read blue prints and drawings is a plus.
- Understanding of contract structure, business terms and conditions.
- Monitors critical suppliers on a quarterly basis for 1) on-time delivery performance 2) product quality 3) customer service and reviews these topics with the suppliers via the quarterly scorecard.
- Responsible for monitoring safety stock and advising if changes to these levels need to be made, establishing EOQ/MOQ levels on commodities assigned to each specific Buyer.
- Negotiate cost, NET, delivery and INCO terms as required.
- Responsible for purchase price variances and inventory levels of commodities assigned to each Buyer.
- Be responsive to special care and short lead-time requirements to ensure the timely completion and availability of material. Expedite orders in support of Manufacturing and Sales as required.
- Review ECO's and Deviations as required.
- Attend meetings as a representative of the Purchasing Dept. as required and assigned.
- Research and complete Notification/RMA actions weekly.
- May include the processing of purchase requisitions generated by other departments.
- Coordinates between Manufacturing, Logistics, Accounting, Marketing, Sales and Engineering departments on matters dealing with Purchasing.
- Responsible for continuous cost reduction.
- Responsible to ensure that required material master records are properly maintained and that all Purchasing/ISO processes are followed.
- Originates requests for bid documentation, including the technical specifications provided by internal customers. Evaluate bids; coordinate with internal customers to reconcile questions and issues with bids. Determine most beneficial value to the company and award Purchase Orders.
- Provides short and long-range projections on supply chain situations to effectively manage the lead-time and cost issues.
- Continually work with purchasing processes and recommend improvements.
- Travel required as needed.
- Configuration Change Board participant.
- Material Review Board participant.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred; eight years’ industry purchasing experience, or equivalent combination of education and MRP, purchasing and planning experience.
- Continuing education in courses such as purchasing, management, inventory management are highly desirable.
- ISM or APICS CPIM certification also desired.
- 120.62, a U.S. person under ITAR includes U.S. citizens, lawful permanent resident as defined in 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(20)/Green Card holders, and protected individuals in 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
