THE POSITIONS: Provides planning and zoning related information to the public and reviews permits for compliance with local, state, and federal requirements and performs other related work as required. There are two areas of expertise that the Planner II position could be assigned to: Front Counter Planner or Current Planner.
- $31.61 to $37.58 per hour depending on experience
- Public Employees Retirement System of Idaho (PERSI), a pension plan with five year vesting, 11.96% employer contribution, and a lifetime payout upon retirement.

DO YOU QUALIFY?
- Do you have a Bachelor of Arts/Science Degree in Geography, Landscape Architecture, Urban or Regional Planning or related field?
- Do you have 2 years relevant planning experience in the public or private sector?
- PLEASE NOTE: A Master’s degree may substitute for 1 year of relevant planning experience in the public or private sector.
- Certification in the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) preferred
- Do you possess or have the ability to possess a driver’s license and are you insurable?
THIS POSITION IS A GOOD FIT FOR YOU IF:
- You understand principles of comprehensive planning, zoning and subdivision regulations
- You can interpret and apply state and county ordinances and regulations
- You have knowledge of Kootenai County, its people and government organizations
- You have excellent oral and written communication skills
- You are organized, able to set priorities and meet critical deadlines in a high volume environment
- Have a strong working knowledge of ArcView and ArcGIS software
