Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Position Summary:
Prepares, measures, and administers radiopharmaceuticals in diagnostic and therapeutic studies, utilizing a variety of equipment and following prescribed procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Administers therapeutic doses of radiopharmaceuticals under direction of physician
- Follows radiation safety techniques when disposing radioactive materials
- Performs a variety of tasks
- Typically reports to chief technologist or manager
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
- Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nuclear Medicine OR successful completion of an approved Nuclear Medicine Technology training program preferred
- Current Registration with the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required within one year of hire
- PET/CT experience preferred
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to maintain a standing position
- Typical equipment used in a clinical job
- Must be able to stoop, crouch or bend
- Must be able to push, pull, or transport heavy equipment
