Pharmacy Project Tech
Position Summary:
Performs extensive administrative functions to support departmental operations. As a certified pharmacy technician, prepares, compounds, and dispenses medical orders/prescriptions under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.
Responsibilities:
Coordinates and performs department needs for projects, reporting, research, meetings, and committee work
Provides department administrative support, including scheduling of staff
Performs functions related to auditing both inter- and intra-departmental processes, and/or completes audit requests from external entities
Participates in Standard Operating Procedure development and posting as assigned
Participates in the development and training of pharmacy technicians
Performs duties of a Certified Pharmacy Technician, including inventory and supply management
Communicates effectively with customers
Maintains comprehensive working knowledge of the department functions and processes
Performs other related duties as assigned
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned
Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician training program or equivalent work experience preferred
Pharmacy Technician license with the Idaho Board of Pharmacy required
Hired as of 6/1/2009, CPhT required.
Minimum 2 years' experience as a pharmacy technician required
Demonstrated expertise in pharmacy systems
Demonstrated ability to use computer skills including keyboarding and practical data entry into
data based software programs
BLS required
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position
- Typical equipment used in a clinical job
- Must be able to stoop, crouch or bend
