Kootenai Prosthetics and Orthotics (KPO) has been serving patients in the Inland Northwest for over 45 years. We work as a team with patients, their families, physicians, physical therapists, and rehabilitation specialists to provide personalized prosthetic and orthotic care. Our in-house fabrication lab enables custom design and timely adjustments of prescribed devices. Located in Post Falls, Idaho, with additional clinics in Sandpoint and Moscow, we also offer inpatient services at area hospitals and nursing homes. KPO proudly serves US military veterans and contracts with the VA Spokane Health Care system.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Prosthetist/Orthotist located in Coeur d'Alene, ID. The Prosthetist/Orthotist will be responsible for evaluating and fitting patients with prosthetic and orthotic devices, developing treatment plans, and providing follow-up care. Additional responsibilities include designing and fabricating custom devices, collaborating with healthcare professionals, ensuring patient understanding of use and care, and making necessary adjustments or repairs.
Qualifications
- Prosthetic and Orthotic assessment, fitting, and fabrication skills
- Knowledge of prosthetic and orthotic materials, biomechanics, and design principles
- Experience in patient care, including developing and implementing treatment plans
- Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and communicate effectively with patients and their families
- Attention to detail and ability to work in an in-house fabrication lab
- Must be ABC certified or board eligible as Prosthetist-Orthotist
- Bachelor’s degree or masters degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics
