Pay Rate: $28.00 - $31.00/hr. (eligible for $3,000 sign-on bonus)

Job Description:
The Mechatronics Maintenance Technician maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs industrial equipment and machinery, with a focus on electrical, pneumatic, and robotic equipment. Diagnose and troubleshoot problems, dismantle/reassemble machines, replace defective parts, and makes necessary adjustments to ensure efficient operation. Most of the time spent will be addressing equipment repairs, assisting with complex changeovers, and completing PM’s.
This position requires a broad technical knowledge of electromechanical principles and good working knowledge of manufacturing machines and processes. Candidate must have a strong technical aptitude and analytical problem-solving skills.
Primary Responsibilities of Mechatronics Maintenance Technician:
- Troubleshoots and repairs industrial equipment containing electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical components, PLC and HMI systems
- Performs preventive maintenance on production equipment and assists with PM scheduling and installation of parts and equipment
- Promptly notifies the appropriate resources (internal and external) in the event major repairs to equipment or facilities are needed and provides accurate communication/documentation to assist in the repair
- Efficiently and safely uses a variety of tools and materials in machine and building maintenance including most power tools, hand tools, machine shop equipment, personal computer and electrical testing equipment
- Maintains effective and respectful working relationships with operators, co-workers and management
- Promptly and accurately completes forms, records and reports used to document the status of department projects and tasks in Maintenance software (eMaint preferred)
- Works with machine vendors to assist in repairing machines and ordering parts
- Actively supports continuous process improvements using lean manufacturing principles and participates in Kaizen events
- Demonstrates flexibility and commitment through cross training and helping other departments consistent with business needs
- Performs duties safely and in accordance with company safety policies
- May be required to work irregular hours for special assignments or return to the plant after scheduled work hours in the event of unexpected breakdowns
- Install or replace electrical wiring and devices under supervision of a Master Electrician
- Perform minor computer setup or repairs with the assistance/direction of IT Department
Qualifications of Mechatronics Maintenance Technician:
- 5 years of industrial controls and automation experience in an industrial environment
- 2 years of Allen-Bradley hardware and software troubleshooting experience - RS Logix 500 & 5000
- 2 years troubleshooting PLCs/HMIs, Ethernet/serial networks, variable frequency drives, servo drives, robotics and industrial PCs
- Must have hands-on troubleshooting ability of electrical circuits up to 480VAC, DC circuits up to 24VDC
- 3 years of experience reading schematics
- Mechatronics degree/certification preferred but not required
- AutoCAD experience desired
- Possess a high aptitude for attention to detail and receptive to learning procedural work
- Experience with fabrication using vertical mill, lathe and welding strongly preferred
- Must possess the ability to learn a broad range of production processes and related machinery
- Strong problem solving, organization skills and a sense of urgency
- Must be a reliable, conscientious team player
- Forklift and man lift certifications desired
