What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Insurance Coordinator position at Koplon Implant and Family Dentistry?
We are seeking a lead insurance coordinator to join our office staff. This position provides in-depth support for all insurance related duties of the office, including coordination and processing of insurance payments, verifications, all billing, coordination of benefits, and ongoing communication with insurance carriers.
Duties:
- Proactively communicates with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to insurance coverage
- Point of contact with insurance companies, third party vendors regarding all insurance matters (scanning, batching, aging and claims)
- Responsible for filing all pre-determinations and posting to patient’s account follow up
- Verifies dental insurance for each patient and contact patient with estimated copayments, deductibles, etc. prior to appointment
- Remain informed on insurance company policy changes and relay updates to staff
- Obtain authorizations, pre-certifications, and pre-treatment estimates required for exams and/or procedures
- Ensures accurate billing and collections of patients and insurance companies
- Correctly uses current CDT, CPT and ICD-10 books for coding and billing purposes
- Assist treatment plan coordinators and other team members with any insurance questions or concerns
- Fill in at front desk as needed
Experience:
- Must have minimum 5 years experience working in a dental office and supporting insurance
- Strong understanding of the insurance verification process
- Attention to detail

- Proficient communications skills
