Job Responsibilities
The Chemical Operator is responsible for maintaining safety, plant production, operating efficiency and regulatory compliance
Follows and encourages others to follow all organizational safety rules and practices.- Fosters & maintains a positive work environment.
- Performs basic tasks interacting with pumps, pipes, valves, and HMIs to prepare and charge material into the manufacturing batch process.
- Ability to operate a forklift to load/unload trailers and transport materials.
- Performs basic lab testing.
- Count and report inventory daily and assist monthly inventory counts.
- Ability to follow and perform lock out tag out (LOTO) for maintenance work on equipment.
- Maintain work area in a clean, organized, and safe environment.
- Maintain accurate records including batch sheets, lab data entries, and shift turnover documents.
- Recommends methods to improve production methods and equipment.
- Ability to assist others in troubleshooting problems.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Candidate Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Basic computer literacy.
- Must be able to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk or hear.
- Ability to climb steps, stairs, and ladders on a regular basis.
- Ability to work on elevated platforms.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to: moving mechanical parts, high/precarious places, fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions
