We are seeking a dynamic and experienced IT Manager to lead our US operations, based in Howell, MI. The IT Manager will provide oversight and direction on IT hardware, software, and systems at four US locations and for our remote employees. You will oversee the IT department and its responsibilities. You will also provide maintenance of the computer desktop environment and automated production lines by analyzing requirements, resolving problems, installing hardware and software solutions, and supporting the organization by communicating with the internal Global IT Helpdesk.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities

- Manage and work with a team that provides first-line support for problems on all applications/hardware configurations. Problems may include hardware malfunctions, software errors, password errors, printer configurations/errors/jams, software installations/configurations, VPN/remote connection, and wireless configuration/connectivity.
- Evaluating and properly escalating service requests that match suitable resources and logging all IT related incidents with the use of service management software.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, document, and resolve hardware issues, software issues, and help desk requests.
- Monitor and follow-up on all outstanding issues to ensure proper and efficient resolution.
- Coordinate the application release process and application tuning, upgrading, and fixing.
- Collaborate with other teams and vendors to implement application changes, updates, and to troubleshoot issues.
- Identify and recommend specific applications needed to improve business operations. Work with departments to determine what application technology meets their needs and how to support their operations.
- Prepare analytics and reports for key applications, including development and management of data lakes, data warehouses, and related business intelligence applications.
- Assist with preparing servers, installing software, and configuring/loading data.
- Document procedures and processes for internal use.
- Assist with project objectives and timelines, communicating updates with other departments.
- Assist in special projects and perform any related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position.
Supervisory Duties
- Manage a team of 1-2 IT Support Technicians.
- Encourage, mentor, train, and guide IT team.
- Establish goals, objectives, and priorities for the effective operation of the IT department.
- Conduct performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Handle disciplinary action of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
- Coordinate workload with external vendors/support personnel as needed.
Requirements
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in management information systems, computer science, management, business administration or related field is required; master’s degree preferred. Applicants with 8 or more years of related service will be given credit toward meeting the minimum educational requirements and will be considered for the position.
- Three years of experience in supervision, administration, or management is required.
Skills and Qualifications
- Experience implementing or upgrading ERP systems, CRM systems, POS systems or equivalent.
- Experience implementing data warehouse or similar business intelligence/analytics solutions.
- Knowledge of emerging industry practices when creating business solutions.
- Knowledge of typical office applications including Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to plan, manage, and implement complex application systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and demonstrate analytical/problem solving skills.
- Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to communicate with and understand the needs of non-technical users.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics, Agriware, Power BI, and Sharepoint.
- May be required to adjust schedule to meet organizational needs, including special events, evenings, weekends & holidays.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to travel (air and ground) up to 10% of the time to our Portland, OR and Oxnard, CA offices for support.
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly exposed to repetitive motions such as bending, twisting, crouching, reaching, pushing, and/or pulling.
