ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
Founded in 1973 as the first community-based social service agency targeting the Korean population, The Korean Community Services of Metropolitan New York, Inc. (KCS) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) multi-social service organization supported by government agencies, foundations, corporations and concerned individuals. The objectives of KCS are to develop and deliver a broad range of social service programs to meet the various needs of the community. In order to achieve these objectives, KCS provides various professional community service programs in the areas of Community, Aging, Workforce Development and Public Health.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Workforce Development is seeking a part-time dynamic individual to instruct and train adult immigrants and New American students in computer basics, intermedia (i.e. Google, Windows, Microsoft Office, email, keyboarding, Zoom, Excel, AI, Smart Phone etc.).
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Plan lessons and activities that facilitate students’ acquisition of computer skills
· Creating and managing classroom paperwork – including student attendance sheets
· Passionate about fostering computer literacy skills in adult learners
· Attending professional development sessions and monthly staff meetings
· Other duties as assigned by the Program Manager
Qualifications:
· Associates or Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or related field preferred but not required
· Prior experience as a computer teacher preferred but not necessary
· Must be bilingual in Korean, and communication level of English
· Experience with the immigrant community and adult students preferred
· Legal status to work in the U.S.
COMPENSATION:
$30/hr
