1. Purpose of Position
The Senior Center Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the KWA Senior Center, ensuring a welcoming and supportive environment for all participants. This role includes planning, coordinating, and implementing a variety of programs and activities that cater to the needs and interests of senior citizens, particularly Asian and immigrant populations. The coordinator also plays a key role in managing resources, coordinating meals, and fostering community partnerships to enhance the services offered at the center.
2. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
A. Program Development and Management:
- Plan, organize, and implement a diverse schedule of activities, classes, and events that promote the physical, mental, and social well-being of seniors.
- Coordinate congregate meal services twice weekly, ensuring nutritional guidelines are met and meals are culturally appropriate.
- Collaborate with the Social Service team to align activities with broader organizational goals.
B. Client Services and Support:
- Provide direct support to seniors, addressing their needs and concerns.
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment, encouraging participation among all members.
- Conduct assessments to identify the needs and interests of participants, adjusting programming accordingly.
- Ensure senior participants safety, get rid of any hazards for the activities.
C. Resource Management:
- Manage the daily operations of the center, including scheduling, supplies, and facility maintenance.
- Coordinate with external vendors and partners to secure resources for programs and events.
- Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations.
D. Community and Partner Engagement:
- Build and maintain relationships with local organizations, senior centers, and community groups to enhance program offerings and avoid scheduling conflicts.
- Coordinate with external partners for joint events, resource sharing, and service coordination.
E. Reporting and Administration:
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, program participation, and client feedback.
- Prepare regular reports for the Social Service Manager on program outcomes and operational needs.
F. Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with KWA staff, volunteers, and interns to ensure the smooth running of the center.
- Provide training and supervision to volunteers and interns.

3. Position Requirements, Competencies and Qualifications
- Satisfactorily pass criminal history and reference checks;
- Must have bilingual ability to speak, read and write English and Korean;
- Must have current driver's license, and current auto insurance, or be able to travel to different locations as needed;
- Strong understanding of assigned community, including best way for outreach;
- Good computer skills - data entry, MS Office, MS Excel Outlook Calendar;
- Ability to produce quality written communications;
- Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills;
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively with others;
3.1Education
- High school diploma or foreign equivalent required; Some college preferred.
3.2 Experience
- Experience in non-profit organization or senior service field preferred.
4. Working Conditions

- Ability to read, write, speak, understand, or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of the position
- Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less, up to 20 feet or more
