What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Design Engineer position at KoreRPO?
Provide engineering support to all areas of the Protection division. This includes, research & development, filter media design & testing, filter construction design & testing, developing new processes to support new filter design and supporting Sales & Operations with technical support.
Carry out CAD design, using SolidWorks under the tutelage of our existing Design Engineers - this will include designs for other parts of the business, as required.
Design new products utilizing methods such as DFMEA, Tolerance stack-ups, creation of performance specifications, & DVPs, CTS / CTQs.
Develop a good understanding of filter operation, functionality, our current manufacturing processes, and process variables.
Use this knowledge to develop new production processes that are currently in development or propose new processes.
Consideration of the full manufacturing process assessing cycle time, number of operators needed, operational efficiencies.
Provide engineering support to Operations for existing products, including change management.
Work within the boundaries of 6 Sigma, Design for 6 Sigma, Lean Manufacturing.
Work with our suppliers to ensure the sub-components are designed for manufacture and meet our requirements, including measurement and control.
Assess potential risks and develop appropriate mitigation plans.
Manage all development filter builds including builds by the engineering team, builds by operators, DVPs, Customer builds.
Work with our Automation suppliers to ensure new equipment meets our internal machine requirements and specific performance requirements.
Write bid proposals including cost estimates.
Demonstrate professional communication through verbal and written reports on test data generated, including charts and graphs as necessary to effectively communicate the information.
Maintain a good understanding of modern technology.
Perform other duties as assigned, including supporting problem-solving teams.
Assist the production engineers to put new products into production and to develop PFMEAs and Control plans.
