This position is responsible for the daily operations for the packaging department to insure all specifications are met by instructing and demonstrating good safety, manage and oversee inspection activities during the manufacturing process, ensure conformance to quality standards during the manufacturing process, maintain housekeeping and good manufacturing practices at an acceptable level, insure we meet our customer’s requirements and expectations by producing a quality product for the Korex Corporation in a timely, cost effective manor.

 

Essential Functions for This Position

-       Regulate and direct staffing according to production schedule.

-       Produce work orders for production runs from the “Magic System.”

-       Demonstrate and train employees on equipment and line operations.

-       Ensure GMP’s and Good Housekeeping practices are upheld in assigned area.

-       Manage and oversee inspection activities to ensure conformance to standards.

-       Effectively respond to and communicate quality issues to the management team.

-       Ensure documentation is reviewed and filled out properly per the Documentation SOP.

-       Manage and control the use of packaging, ingredient, and finished product materials in a cost effective manner. 

-       Promptly report defective materials and abnormal loss of ingredients or finished product.

-       Supply monthly reports pertaining to scrap, weights and line efficiencies.

-       Word process memos, letters and reports.

-       Work with the “Process Department” for better communications to prevent and minimize unnecessary down time.

-       Handle special assignments as instructed by the General Manager.

-       The worker is required to wear all safety protective equipment required by The Korex Corporation and/or the State of Michigan- Department of Labor.

-       All other duties as assigned.

 

Skill/Knowledge Requirements

 

-       High School Diploma – Associates or Bachelor Degree preferred

-       5 years of supervisory skills

-       Proficient in word processing and spreadsheet applications

-       Excellent communication and people skills

 

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

 

-       Climbing:  Ascending or descending stairs (1%)

-       Standing:  For sustained periods (1%)

-       Walking:  Moving on foot to accomplish a task (50%)

-       Lifting:  Raising objects from lower to higher positions or moving objects horizontally from position to position (2%)

-       Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities that must convey detailed or important spoken information to others accurately, loudly, or quickly (98%)

-       Hearing:  Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make fine discriminations in sound (98%)

-       Repetitive Motions: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers (50%)

 

Physical Requirements for This Position

 

Light work: Exerting up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally, and 10 lbs. of force frequently.

Picking up motion: 25 lbs.

 

Conditions Worker Will Be Subjected To In This Position

 

-       The worker is subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions.

-       The worker will be subject to 60 to 70 lbs. During production running conditions.  There is a sufficient noise level in the plant that may cause worker to shout in order to be heard.

-       The worker is subject to one or more of the following conditions that may affect the respiratory system or the skin: Fumes, odors, dust, mists or poor ventilation: Fumes, odors, dust, mists or poor ventilation.

-       The worker is required to wear all safety protective equipment required by The Korex Corporation and/or The State of Michigan- Department of Labor.

-       This is a moderate to high-pressure position.  The individual must be able to communicate and act in a professional manner at all times to customers and fellow workers.

-       Make sure that all employees, permanent or temporary are aware of the proper use of any tools and or equipment

-       Identify and resolve any and all safety hazards prior to the shift start-up

-       Follow and enforce Enzyme Program Protocol

Service quality is a comparison of expectations with performance.  Supervisor will promote quality throughout the course of his day demonstrating a genuine interest and actively support quality goals, objectives, and activities.  The supervisor will drive quality awareness and response into the behavior of the employees performing the work and ensure quality standards and requirements are meet.  This is achieved by understanding and improving operational procedures.  The supervisor will investigate quality incidents and work with the team to develop solutions that will eliminate the root cause of the non-conformance.

 

Salary : $25 - $30
