Our client is a growing company in the Providence, RI area and they are looking for an exceptional Procurement Manager to oversee all of their spend (direct materials and services).
The Procurement Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the procurement process, including sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing. The Procurement Manager will effectively manage supplier and subcontractor relationships, optimize procurement processes, and achieve cost savings for the organization.
This role involves strategic planning, supplier management, contract negotiation, and ensuring timely delivery of materials and services. The Procurement Manager collaborates closely with company executives, project leaders, analysts, engineering teams, subcontractors, and vendors to streamline operations and optimize project outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand project timelines, budget constraints, and material specifications.
- Responsible for the procurement process from requisition, Invitation to Bid or Request for Proposal to purchase order or subcontract issuance and delivery.
- Developing a strategic category plan based on an understanding of business goals and objectives, the supply market, and competitive benchmarking.
- Leading cross-functional teams to develop meaningful requirements to ensure quality responses from suppliers.
- Utilizing supply market knowledge to leverage the best strategy for the company and leading cross-functional supplier selection activities through management of formal RFP, RFQ, and RFI processes.
- Evaluating the financial stability of potential suppliers.
- Performing required business analysis with a strategic focus on total cost of ownership.
- Continuously seeking out cost savings opportunities and leading efforts to realize those savings.
- Managing overall supplier performance, including acting as an escalation point in the event of non-performance.
- Managing and influencing all phases of change management.
- Ensure that all procured materials and services meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with quality assurance teams to conduct inspections and address any non-conformances promptly.
Qualifications:
- At least 10 years’ experience in procurement or supply chain management, ideally with experience in the construction industry.
- Sourcing experience in complex organizations with many stakeholders
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related field. Master's degree preferred
- Must be authorized to work for any employer in the US. No sponsorship is available.
