We are seeking a talented and motivated Senior Accounting and Operations Analyst to join our team and play a critical role in supporting our financial operations and portfolio management.
Position Summary:
The Senior Accounting and Operations Analyst will be responsible for overseeing the financial reporting, operational processes, and compliance requirements of the firm. This role will involve working closely with the finance, investment, and operations teams to ensure the smooth functioning of our accounting and operational workflows, including portfolio monitoring and fund administration.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the firm and its investment funds.
- Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
- Coordinate annual audits and liaise with external auditors.
Fund Administration:
- Support fund accounting activities, including capital calls, distributions, and partner allocations.
- Collaborate with third-party fund administrators to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Monitor fund cash flows and manage banking relationships.
Operational Support:
- Assist in the development and maintenance of internal controls and operational policies.
- Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency across accounting and operations.
- Work with portfolio companies to support financial reporting and performance tracking.
Compliance & Regulatory:
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, including SEC filings and tax compliance.
- Manage investor reporting and respond to LP queries as needed.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Generate financial and operational reports to support decision-making.
- Analyze portfolio company performance and prepare insights for management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CFA designation preferred).
- 3-5 years of experience in accounting, audit, or financial operations, preferably within private equity, venture capital, or asset management.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and fund accounting principles.
- Proficiency in financial software systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration across teams.
