Senior Data Platform Engineer - Snowflake

Job Title: Senior Data Platform Engineer - Interim to Hire
Location: 100% Remote
Pay: $70hr to $85hr W2

Overview: Korn Ferry is looking for a Senior Data Platform Engineer to join our clients Platform Engineering team. They are a Global Private Equity Firm with 85 SaaS product companies in their portfolio. This role focuses on building and maintaining the infrastructure and self-service capabilities that support our Data Engineering team in managing data pipelines. You will play a key role in developing our Azure-based data lakehouse architecture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain infrastructure for our Azure-based data lakehouse, including Snowflake and other Azure data services.


• Automate resource provisioning using Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform) and integrate with CI/CD pipelines.


• Support and integrate tools like Fivetran, DBT, and Datadog for self-service and observability.


• Create self-service workflows for data engineers and analysts to provision code repositories, CI/CD pipelines, data pipelines, storage, and services.


• Ensure secure and performant connectivity between services (e.g., Azure Private Link for Snowflake, Salesforce).


• Collaborate with the Security team to ensure compliance and secure access controls.


• Participate in platform observability and incident response related to data infrastructure.


• Lead capacity planning, performance benchmarking, and cost optimization initiatives.


• Introduce templates for common data use cases to accelerate onboarding.


• Provision data infrastructure for GenAI workloads, including vector stores and retrieval-augmented generation pipelines.

Required Qualifications:

• 6 years of experience in cloud infrastructure or platform engineering, focusing on data platforms.


• Strong understanding of databases, data lakes, data warehouses, and lakehouse architectures within Azure and Snowflake environments.


• Experience with Snowflake configurations and commands using SQL and Python


• Hands-on experience with infrastructure automation (e.g., Terraform, Azure Bicep).


• Experience with tools like Fivetran, dbt, and Metaplane.


• Familiarity with Metaplane or equivalent data observability tools


• Proficiency in designing for observability, scalability, and reliability in cloud-native environments.
