Position Overview
Korn Ferry is excited to partner with one of the top 50 fastest-growing financial services firms in the US, to hire a Tax Director to lead and elevate their tax practice. This pivotal role ensures the firm’s clients are tax compliant while providing income tax advice to minimize their tax liability, within the applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review complex federal and state tax returns for individuals, trusts, foundations, partnerships, corporations, S-corporations, and LLCs.
- Oversee the year-end tax planning process, focusing on optimizing the timing of capital gains and losses within investment portfolios.
- Execute trust distribution tax planning annually to identify and implement tax-saving opportunities.
- Calculate and submit quarterly estimated federal and state tax payments for various entities, including individuals, trusts, foundations, and corporations.
- Draft and review gift tax returns with precision.
- Conduct in-depth research on complex tax matters impacting clients and the firm’s operations.
- Collaborate across offices to gather essential financial and tax data for seamless service delivery.
- Handle the firm’s tax filings, including Forms 1099, commercial rent tax, and state fee compliance.
- Work with teams across offices on diverse initiatives, such as retirement planning and navigating tax audits.
- Lead and mentor junior tax team members, fostering their growth through training and professional development opportunities.
- Build long-term client relationships, enhance the firm’s tax services, and drive innovation when it comes to client experience.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will be an excellent technical tax professional who is detail-oriented, well organized, motivated, client-centric, and a team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills. They will bring the following expertise:
- Minimum 10–15 years’ experience in a tax consultancy or advisory role working for a family office / equivalent crafting tailored solutions for clients, aligning their tax strategy with investment objectives.
- Expertise in navigating the intricacies of U.S., state, and local tax regulations while researching and designing innovative tax structures.
- Estate planning and financial planning skills to enhance the firm’s wealth management services.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and deliver meticulous results, ensuring clients receive consistent and seamless service.
- Leadership capabilities to train and mentor junior tax professionals.
- Proven ability to build strong client relationships by listening intently and translating complex tax matters into clear, actionable advice.
- Possess an innovative mindset to encourage clients and colleagues to think strategically, anticipate challenges, and shape the future of the firm’s tax services.

Education Qualifications
CPA designation required.
A postgraduate degree in tax (MS, LLM, etc.) is an asset.
