We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to lead the launch of a new warehouse. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with a strong background in site start-ups, operational excellence, and team development. The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for establishing processes, building teams, and ensuring a smooth ramp-up to full operational capacity. This position requires strategic planning, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to drive efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Start-Up & Operational Readiness:
- Lead all aspects of warehouse start-up, including facility setup, equipment procurement, staffing, and system implementation.
- Develop and execute the operational plan to ensure a successful launch and scalability of warehouse functions.
Process Development & Continuous Improvement:
- Design and implement standard operating procedures best practices, and KPIs for all warehouse functions.
- Identify potential bottlenecks and implement Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen methodologies to drive process improvements.
- Optimize warehouse layout and material flow for maximum efficiency and productivity.
- Develop safety protocols and compliance measures in alignment with OSHA and company policies.
Leadership & Team Development:
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing warehouse team, ensuring alignment with company culture and objectives.
- Provide hands-on leadership and mentoring to supervisors, leads, and associates.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement through regular feedback, training, and recognition programs.
- Conduct daily stand-up meetings to align teams on priorities, challenges, and performance expectations.
Operational Execution & Performance Management:
- Oversee inventory management, order fulfillment, and shipping/receiving to ensure on-time delivery and accuracy.
- Monitor and drive performance metrics, including dock-to-stock time, order cycle time, fill rates, and labor productivity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including supply chain, transportation, and customer service, to ensure seamless operations.
- Manage budgets, cost controls, and financial reporting related to warehouse operations.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in warehouse management, distribution, or logistics, with a strong focus on site start-ups.
- Proven experience in launching new warehouse facilities or leading major operational transitions.
- Strong knowledge of WMS, inventory control, and fulfillment processes.
- Expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is highly preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and adapt to evolving business needs.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and performance tracking.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field preferred.
