Description : The Prep Cook plays a pivotal role in supporting kitchen operations by meticulously preparing ingredients and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen. They collaborate closely with the culinary team to ensure all menu items are prepared to exacting standards and in adherence to established recipes. In addition to their primary responsibilities, Prep Cooks also offer assistance on the line when needed, seamlessly transitioning between tasks to facilitate a smooth kitchen workflow. Moreover, they contribute to various duties in the back of the house, including dishwashing and cleaning, to uphold a sanitary and efficient kitchen environment. It's worth noting that Prep Cooks do not earn tips but are highly valued for their hard work and dedication to ensuring the kitchen operates seamlessly.
Responsibilities :
Assist in the meticulous preparation of ingredients, encompassing washing, peeling, and chopping fruits, vegetables, and meats.
Accurately measure and portion ingredients in accordance with recipes and portion sizes.
Prepare sauces, marinades, and other components as instructed by the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager.
Organize and stock ingredients and supplies to facilitate efficient workflow during service.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in food preparation areas, including equipment and utensils.
Collaborate with the culinary team to support kitchen operations, including assisting on the line during peak periods.
Assist with receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring proper rotation of stock.
Contribute to general kitchen duties, encompassing dishwashing, cleaning, and sanitizing surfaces.
Foster a collaborative environment by communicating effectively with other team members to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements :
Previous experience as a prep cook or in a similar role is advantageous.
