Position Overview:

The Harvey Convenience Store Assistant Manager works closely with the Manager to ensure the overall success and operation of the convenience store and deli. This person is an influential staff member, who works closely with the Manager to provide guidance, support, and motivation. It is critical that the Assistant Manager is a hands-on co-worker and role model.

Responsibilities and Duties:

· Work closely with the Manager regarding staff, inventory, and operations

· Serve as the staff leader in the manager’s absence

· Act as a positive role model and work with staff to ensure assigned tasks are completed

· Provide excellent customer service and help ensure it is part of the culture

· Help train new and existing employees

· Open and close the store and deli when scheduled

· Provide perspective on hiring, reviewing, and dismissing employees as needed

· Help the Manager with budgeting and monitoring margins

· Support the maintenance of a safe and clean work environment

· Help ensure the store and deli meet state health and safety regulations

Requirements:

· Excellent communication skills and potential to lead and motivate a staff successfully

· Related experience and/or the ability to understand the business and technical aspects of the job

· Patience to teach and train

· Enjoy the challenge of multitasking

· Be the ideal team player, blending humility, passion for the work, and emotional intelligence

Compensation: $16 to $21/ hour - Depending on experience and

Pay: $16.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
