We are seeking a Senior Product Sales Specialist who will be responsible for a Sales Territory in the Ohio area (the “Territory”).
Koya Medical is in the early stages of launching its flagship offering, Dayspring®, a new innovation that is the first wearable and mobility-enabled compression system designed to treat and enable movement, mobility and personalized care that is unavailable with traditional compression pump therapy. The Dayspring system includes a low-profile active garment made of soft, breathable mesh using Koya’s proprietary Flexframe® technology; a smart, rechargeable, hand-held controller that can be worn on a lanyard; and a mobile app that allows users or their clinicians to program custom treatment options. Dayspring is FDA cleared to treat lymphedema and other similar conditions that impact lymphatic flow in upper and lower extremities.

About The Role
The Senior Product Sales Specialist, at this ground breaking startup company will be reporting to the Vice President of Sales at Koya Medical, is responsible for leading all market development and sales activities in the Territory, including conducting clinical presentations, patient demonstrations and trainings in clinics, facilitating pull-through activities such as document collection (e.g., patient authorization, prescription and medical records) and finalizing the sale.
Over time, the Senior Product Sales Specialist will be expected to grow into a leadership role as Koya Medical expands its sales organization. This role will then be responsible for hiring, training, and leading reps in the Region and expanding into new sales territories.

The Senior Product Sales Specialist Will
- Develop new markets and strong command of clinical selling to therapists and physicians and total office and clinic call. As part of launching a novel innovation, this requires the creation of new approaches and processes, a clear articulation of the product features and clinical benefits, understanding of key claims and clinical studies
- Identify new targets, develop and maintain new relationships with clinicians and therapists in the territory, with the goal of targeting and cultivating regional and local ‘centers of excellence’ and driving repeat business and referrals and identifying local and regional clinical champions (physicians)
- Generate demand and develop business in the Territory while providing exceptional support to patients and caregivers.
- Perform sales presentations and product demonstrations to clinical staff as well as organizing and leading local trade shows and meetings (such as peer to peer programs)
- Coordinate and conduct patient demonstrations and training, including making and confirming appointments, bringing all necessary equipment and supplies, and measuring/fitting patients.
- Educate the patient and/or caregiver in all aspects of device use, including donning and doffing of garments, use of controller and app, adhering to product instructions, initiating a therapy session and providing general product support.
- Provide clear verbal instruction(s) while demonstrating to patients and caregivers, gearing the demo to their specific situation to ensure training/demo approach meets the patient’s individual needs.
- Verify patient understanding of education by verbal acknowledgement and patient demonstration of all aspects learned.
- Review required documentation with patients and answer any questions to support the product sales and medical claims reimbursement processes.
- Able to strictly adhere to sales targets and establishing sales strategies to attain monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals.
- Travel within the target territory.
- Bachelor’s degree in a health or science major or health related certification or equivalent work experience.
- 5-10 years of experience in home medical /durable medical equipment sales that includes both clinic/physician and patient facing role. Strong working proficiency health care coverage and reimbursement process in order to facilitate product access to patients.
- Previous sales experience required in lieu of required experience or education or at the Company’s discretion.
- Excellent orientation to delight customers
- Creative and successful introduction of new or novel products or portfolios
- Current strong contacts and relationships with clinicians (oncology and vascular)
- Experience selling with established key relationships in the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and other government-affiliated health care systems (e.g., Indian Health Systems)
- Hands-on orientation and enjoys the fast pace and ambiguity of a start-up
- Highly goal and objectives oriented and adaptive
- Hard-working and highly motivated, entrepreneurial and self-starters
- Detail-oriented and organized; demonstrated ability to develop and execute a systematic sales process
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; persuasive and credible with a wide variety of audiences
- Coachable and open to learning and continuous improvement
- Experience with and disciplined use of CRM (SalesForce.com or similar)
- Performance metric-based orientation
- Prior collaboration experience with marketing and market access and sales training
- Experience in operating in a highly regulated industry and prescription based products
- Functional proficiency with MS Office and Google Suite of products
