POSITION SUMMARY
Responsibilities
Director Infection Prevention responsibilities include :
- Managing and planning the development, and implementation of the infection prevention and control program.
- Participating in infection control surveillance and data analysis activities based on sound epidemiological and statistical principles.
- Development, review, and monitoring of policies.
- Consultation on infection risk assessment, prevention, and control strategies.
- Implementation of changes mandated by regulatory and licensing agencies.
- Application of epidemiological principles, including activities directed at improving patient outcomes.
- Collaborating with other departments.
- Conducting outbreak investigations.
- Infection Control reporting to public health authorities.
- Evaluation of products and procedures.
- Planning and providing educational programs related to Infection Control.
- Oversight responsibility for Infection Control Nurse or other associate within the department (when applicable).
- Provision of high-quality services in cost-efficient manner.
