JOB TITLE: Manager, Quality/Risk Management
REPORTS TO: Regional Director, Quality Improvement & Risk Management
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Quality/Risk Management is responsible for supporting, patient safety, risk management and performance improvement strategy by coordinating activities related to clinical performance and medical outcomes excellence. Additionally, he or she will partner with KPC facilities to coordinate and oversee the planning, implementation and hardwiring of high reliability organization strategies and tactics across the Region. Responsible for all activities related to National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Accreditation and/or Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) performance ensuring highest level of accreditation.
Job Responsibilities:
- Reviews and presents results of quality interventions for clinical and operational performance improvements and identify organizational risks to executive management
- Formulates and establishes policies, operating procedures, and goals in compliance with internal and external guidelines
- Manages and ensures compliance and turnaround time of grievances and appeals
- Serves as a technical advisor, educator, and internal consultant to all hospital management and staff, on the use of performance improvement tools and techniques, analytical techniques and statistical applications
- Provides direction to management staff responsible for identified areas to ensure that all required elements of standard compliance pertaining to regulatory and voluntary agencies are consistently maintained
- Analyzes all assigned areas for opportunities for improvement and makes applicable recommendations for process, system, procedure, and operational changes to improve healthcare value and quality, i.e., Core Measures, Hospital-Acquired Conditions, Hospital-Acquired Infections, Infection Prevention Practices, etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Minimum of five (5) years of direct quality, patient safety, and or performance improvement experience in an acute care setting. Experience within a multi-site health care system preferred. Project Management Experience preferred. Registered Nurse preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare or related field preferred. Certified Professional Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or American Society for Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM) preferred.
