SUMMARY
Serves as the clinical resource for medication related issues within the computerized Health Information System and as the expert in patient safety and the use of technology to optimize care delivery processes and effectively communicate patient care activity. Provide pharmacy review and approval for all order sets that contain medication orders. Develop and maintains clinical rules (i.e. alerts that only fire if certain conditions are met) and clinical reports. Develop, maintain, and monitor effectiveness of all forms of drug alerts (order alerts, drug interaction/duplicate/allergy alerts). Maintain proficiency in all duties performed by the Pharmacy System Analyst in order to serve as backfill for that position. Exhibit advanced knowledge of clinical pharmacy and professional development via publication in the pharmacy or medical literature, providing lectures to other medical professionals, or precepting elective rotations to students and residents in clinical informatics. Provide reports to the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee on descriptions and effectiveness of medication related CDS efforts. Performs other duties as assigned. Follows KPC Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws and standards. Carries out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of KPC Health.
REQUIREMENTS
- California Board of Pharmacy Pharmacist License without restriction
- Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy; Preferred Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
- Minimum (2) years of acute care hospital pharmacy practice; Preferred at least (1) year of informatics experience in acute care setting
- Preferred (1) year of experience with AllScripts and Pyxis ES applications
