A Recreational Therapist engages patients in therapeutic and recreational activities. Recreational therapist use a variety of modalities, including arts and crafts; drama, music, and dance; sports and games, to help maintain or improve a patient's physical, social, and emotional well-being. Recreational Therapist is assigned to conduct one-on-one interviews / assessments to patients admitted within 72 hours, providing observable behaviors and assigning specific goals and objectives based on findings. Recreational Therapist is to take part in treatment planning with interdisciplinary team of Psychiatrists, Nurses, Social Workers, and Case Managers. Recreational Therapist is to complete discharge notes for patients discharging.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Therapy, Music Therapy, Music Therapy, or related field.
- Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS), Music Therapy, or Art Therapy required.
- Must have a current BLS (AHA) and maintain current.
- One year related experience, preferred.
- ABM / MAB / CPI or equivalent within sixty days (60) days of hire and maintain current.
- Must have ability to perform to meet essentials functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
