What are the responsibilities and job description for the Health Information Clerk (Medical Records) Part time position at KPC Promise Healthcare LLC?
KPC Promise Hospital of PHOENIX: The HIM Clerk performs a variety of clerical and related support services required in the general operation of the Health Information Management Department. He/She assembles charts in an established order, files all loose reports, performs release of information, retrieves andfiles records and abstracts/indexes patient health information. This is a full-time position with varied hours that will depend on the needs of the department.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of general medical terminology preferred
- One year in a health care related field, preferably in Health Information Management
- Typing minimum 40 wpm
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Physical: Walking – up to 10% Standing – up to 20% Kneeling - up to 10%
Sitting – up to 40% Pushing – up to 10% Bending – up to 10%
Squatting – up to 5% Pulling – up to 10% Reaching – up to 10%
Lifting – up to 20% Wrist/Finger Movements - up to 80%
Mental: Stress Level: Moderate to high
EXPOSURE RISK: Category III - Jobs in which required tasks involve no greater exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues than would be encountered by a visitor. The normal work routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues.
