KPFF's civil engineering staff accomplishes projects for site development, parks, and recreation facilities and the improvements to existing city streets, urban arterials, and highways. Scope of services may include site planning, environmental analysis, storm drainage studies, wetlands enhancement, permit coordination, and design of site grading, drainage, storm detention, utilities, access roads, parking facilities, and public street improvements.

In addition to typical site development engineering, our civil group serves as a prime consultant to government clients for management and design of transportation, waterfront, site improvements, and major utility projects.

Our engineers work in dynamic teams with open communication and strong support from senior-level mentors. These teams work directly with our clients on some of the most challenging projects in the region. Job Description

Dynamic and friendly Survey and Civil Engineering office needs an experienced Survey Crew Chief. Established in Los Angeles in 1968, KPFF Consulting Engineers supports the most exciting projects that define the region, and reshape numerous neighborhoods and communities, from the beaches on the Westside to the deserts in the East.

KPFF's surveying team provides land surveying and mapping for projects of all sizes throughout Southern California. Our scope includes construction staking, ALTA land title surveys, boundary, topographic and aerial surveys, Condominium Plans, Vertical Airspace Maps, Parcel Maps, Tract Maps, legal descriptions and laser scanning services. Our team provides high quality surveying solutions to engineers, developers, architects, contractors, individuals, title companies, mortgage companies and public agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Under limited supervision - organizes, manages and directs field survey crew in completing boundary, topographic, ALTA, right of way, construction staking, and subdivision projects for public and private clients.
  • Calculates and records field data and leads survey crew on complex survey engagements.
  • Proficiently performs training, data collection, and quality checks for survey field work.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

  • California P.L.S. license preferred.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment working in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of surveying and possess knowledge of related fields and areas of operation which affect, or are affected by own area of expertise.
  • Ability to work in the field utilizing fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of surveying to make precise survey measurements of potentially large tracts of land operating surveying instruments
  • Carry surveying instruments to, from, and in the field
  • Establish and maintain friendly, business-like relations with those contacted in the course of work
  • Ability to utilize sound judgment, independent decision making, and prolonged focus to complete surveying tasks

  • Compensation : The base salary for this role is competitive and will be determined based on the candidate's experience, education, and skills. The expected Salary for this position is $75,000 - $120,000 depending on education, experience, and licensureAdditionally, we offer performance-based bonuses to recognize and reward outstanding contributions in each Reporting Center. During the interview process, we'll provide detailed information and address any questions you may have about the overall compensation package and benefits.
