We are seeking an experienced Project Manager / Program Manager to oversee new build and dry dock projects for a leading cruise line. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the maritime or cruise industry and be adept at managing large-scale shipbuilding, refurbishment, and maintenance initiatives. This role requires extensive travel to shipyards, vendor sites, and dry dock locations worldwide.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage new build and dry dock projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with timelines, budgets, and company objectives.
• Collaborate with shipyards, vendors, engineering teams, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.
• Develop and manage project plans, budgets, and risk assessments, ensuring timely and cost-effective execution.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams, including design, procurement, logistics, and operations, to streamline project workflows.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for shipyards, contractors, and internal stakeholders, providing regular updates and reports.
• Oversee dry dock scheduling, work scope definition, and execution to minimize operational downtime.
• Negotiate contracts, manage vendor relationships, and ensure quality control throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain awareness of IMO, SOLAS, and other maritime regulations impacting new build and dry dock operations.
• Lead on-site inspections and quality assurance checks at various global locations.
Qualifications & Skills:
• 5 years of project management experience in shipbuilding, dry dock management, or maritime operations.
• Prior experience in the cruise industry is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of ship construction, refurbishment, maintenance, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent organizational, leadership, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and teams across different time zones.
• Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management and cost control.
• Willingness to travel extensively (50% travel required) to shipyards and dry dock locations worldwide.
• PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification is a plus.
• Proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Primavera, etc.) and ship design tools is an advantage.
