Job Title: Senior Power BI Developer

Location: Hybrid in Cincinnati, OH
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Power BI Developer to lead the design, development, and deployment of interactive dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI. This role requires expertise in SQL Server to manage and optimize data sources, ensuring seamless integration and performance. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven solutions that support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Power BI Development & Reporting:
- Design and develop interactive Power BI dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights.
- Implement advanced DAX calculations and Power Query transformations to meet business requirements.
- Ensure reports are optimized for performance and usability.
Data Modeling & Integration:
- Create and maintain robust data models using SQL Server, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
- Develop and manage ETL processes to integrate data from various sources into Power BI.
- Implement row-level security and manage user access within Power BI reports.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into technical specifications.
- Provide training and support to end-users, enhancing their ability to utilize Power BI effectively.
Performance Optimization & Troubleshooting:
- Monitor and optimize the performance of Power BI reports and dashboards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data connectivity, report rendering, and user access.
Documentation & Best Practices:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for Power BI solutions, including data models, DAX formulas, and report designs.
- Adhere to best practices in BI development and contribute to the establishment of standards within the team.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
· Proficiency in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
· Advanced knowledge of DAX, Power Query (M), and data modeling techniques.
· Strong experience with SQL Server, including T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS.
· Familiarity with data warehousing concepts such as star and snowflake schemas.
Experience:
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in BI development, with at least 3 years focused on Power BI.
· Proven track record of delivering complex BI solutions in a collaborative environment.
Soft Skills:
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· Strong communication skills, capable of conveying technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Azure Data Services, including Azure SQL Database and Azure Data Factory.
- Familiarity with Power Apps and Power Automate for end-to-end automation solutions.
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate (DA-100) or equivalent.
