Responsibilities:
- Provide technical design and architectural leadership, including documenting and diagramming the logical, physical, and process views for enterprise monitoring solutions
- Facilitate organizational change by defining strategies for the firm with respect to technology domain standards, and design goals; focus mainly on monitoring, event correlation, service dependency mapping
- Develop and maintain roadmaps, which include product selection, versions, upgrades, projects, and milestones; conduct research focused on identifying emerging technology solutions that reduce costs, increase efficiencies, provide more value, provide more capabilities, reduce risks, and increase security
- Lead efforts for technology evaluations, which involves identifying a weighted feature matrix for a specific need; evaluate and score products against the desired features; research activities include readings, proof-of-concepts (POCs), and lab testing
- Communicate leading practices by giving presentations, work with project teams, and author content aimed at educating others about standards, strategies, and otherwise defined leading practices; work individually and collaboratively with team members to ensure breadth and granularity of strategies, standards and reference architectures for consistency and integration
- Act as lead triage point of contact for incidences to improve Mean Time to Repair (MTTR); provide vision and guidance on unified monitoring; gather data from disparate monitoring tools and creating a unified solution to help isolate and resolve issues faster; provide on call responsibilities for incidence response and triage
- Minimum eight years of recent experience in Network Design and Engineering, focusing on rapid triage using industry monitoring tools, managing and supporting large scale projects and network automaton, preferably within a professional services firm or similar environment; experience troubleshooting and resolving complex networking incidences
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred; Cisco Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP), Cisco Certified Security Professional (CCSP) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification preferred
- Demonstrated experience designing and implementing network monitoring architecture and reference architectures from business requirements gathering to technology rollout oversight, including capacity management, definition of scoring methodologies for technology selection, integration of multiple tools and technical documentation
- Deep understanding of Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), routing and switching technologies, data center products; remote access technology; ability to program with one or more `scripting' languages; Application Programming Interface (API) integrations; knowledge of ServiceNow, Solarwinds, ThousandEyes, Cisco Catalyst Center, Cisco DCNM, Cisco ISE, MS Sentinel, SquaredUp, PowerBI
- Experience with Cisco networks and monitoring tools; knowledge or practical experience with public cloud deployments like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure; good knowledge of Network function virtualization Virtual router/Switch, Virtual FW, Virtual Load Balancers
- Strong verbal/written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of responsibility and authority; ability to prioritize, delegate and foster the development of high performance teams to lead/support an environment driven by customer service and team work; excellent trouble-shooting and organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously; capability to participate in resource planning processes based on defined organizational plans
