KPMG is currently seeking an Executive Director, AI and Data Governance to join our New Firmwide Data and AI Enablement team.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute as a member of a Senior Data leadership team supporting use of data across KPMG's client functions (Advisory, Audit and Tax) to help drive AI innovation and client delivery
- Develop, implement and maintain control and permissibility frameworks for use and reuse across our data ecosystems, ensuring structured and unstructured data aligns to our Trusted AI and data principles
- Define and oversee automation of permissibility and usage controls governing and protecting the shared data and knowledge across the firm
- Collaborate with Office of General Council, Privacy and Risk leadership as well as Advisory, Audit and Tax stakeholders to develop and refine common data governance policy, approaches, and solutions where applicable
- Provide visibility to and manage current and emerging data related risks impacting use of AI within KPMG
- Direct a high-performing team of data and content governance professionals, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment focused on continuous improvement; coach / train client facing account teams on data handling policy and protocols to best protect client and firm data
- Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment
- Minimum fifteen years of recent experience focusing on data governance, data management, risk management, and data storytelling with a proven track record of success in leading and scaling data governance programs within a complex AI enabled data estate
- Master's degree from an accredited college/university is preferred; minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required
- Experience navigating the evolving AI and data regulatory landscape to develop and implement compliant governance practices and mitigate risk; experience working closely with Data, Content, AI and Privacy Executives
- Strong understanding of the evolving data estate, including the data and content supply chain, access, and usage permissibility, third party data and usage agreements, and the impacts of Generative AI technologies on data governance
- Proven ability to translate this knowledge into actionable, data and content governance strategies, driving a team of senior practitioners to measurable results
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing adaptable, scalable, and effective data governance practices and frameworks
